Miami heat head coach put Tyler Herro in the starting lineup

October 14, 2022

Tyler Herro of the Miami Heat has a slight chance of repeating as the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year.

This is because he will open the season as the starting shooting guard. Herro made his preseason debut against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday. He takes over for Max Strus, who was in charge for most of the previous season.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra explained why Herro is the greatest match after the game. Herro scored 23 points on 8 of 15 shooting.

“It’s the versatility,” Spoelstra explained. “That’s what he can bring to any lineup. He can play off the ball, which I think is helpful in that starting lineup, but he can also play with the ball and be extremely dangerous in pick-and-rolls off the dribble and in transitions, which he demonstrated in the small sample size (Wednesday).”

The Heat will start the regular season against the Chicago Bulls at FTX Arena on Wednesday.
