The team announced today that Orlando Robinson, a center, has been signed by Miami HEAT to a two-way contract. The team kept the deal’s terms a secret following club policy. Guard Dru Smith’s two-way contract with Miami has also been waived.

Robinson averages a team-best 31.2 minutes, 20.0 points, 2.5 assists, 9.2 rebounds, 1.25 steals, and 1.00 blocks per game while playing for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, the HEAT’s G League affiliate. He also shoots 53.2 percent from the field and is a perfect 7-of-7 at the charity stripe. He is the team’s leader in making points, rebounds, blocks, and field goals.

On November 5, he recorded a double-double against Iowa with 21 points and ten rebounds. Before being released on October 13, he had been signed by Miami on July 7 and had participated in four preseason contests.

Robinson started each of his 90 career games during his three seasons at Fresno State. Robinson averaged 19.4 points, 2.9 assists, 8.4 rebounds, 1.19 blocks, 1.00 steals, and 33.2 minutes per game in his final season as a junior, starting all 36 games for the Bulldogs. In NCAA history, he became just one of two players to record at least 700 points, 100 assists, and 300 rebounds in a single campaign.

Robinson was chosen as a Lefty Driesell Defensive All-American and honored to the All-Mountain West First Team and the NABC All-District 17 First Team. He was second on the team in assists and steals while leading the team in points, rebounds, blocks, made field goals, made free throws, and minutes. In addition, he had 12 double-doubles and 18 games with 20 or more points, including three with 30 or more.

Robinson will don the 25th position.

This season, Smith played in one game for the HEAT, recording 2 points, 1 rebound, and a steal in 5:37 of action.
