March 21, 2023

Tyler Herro rescued the Miami Heat on the road in their last match against the Detroit Pistons. Herro stepped forward, especially at critical moments, to help the Heat win. Miami coach Erik Spoelstra certainly hasn’t lost sight of his heroics, and he was full of praise for the shooting guard in his postgame press conference.

“He’s got that key gene. He’s a killer,” Spoelstra said of Tyler Herro.

Herro scored 19 points on just 7-for-17 shooting from the field, but he scored 10 in the game’s final four minutes, going 3-for-3 from the field with two rebounds and an assist in that critical period.

Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo also shined for the Heat. Butler scored 26 points, 109 assists, and four rebounds on 8 of 11 shots. Adebayor scored 22 points, ten rebounds, five assists, and three blocks. 39 minutes.

Tyler Herro and the Heat have won three of their last four games and will look to keep that going when they host the New York Knicks this coming Thursday. The Heat lead 39-34 after a win over the Pistons and are currently in seventh place in the Eastern Conference.

Herro has been the Heat’s most efficient scorer, but he’s proven time and again that he can be counted on for the most critical shots. This season, he’s averaging 5.8 points in the fourth quarter while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from deep, which ranks second among Heat players.
